Steve offers all types of trout fishing guiding and instruction. Fly fishing the streams and rivers and lakes of the Snowy Mountains. Lake Jindabyne boat trolling. River and lake ‘lure spinning’ and lake ‘bait fishing’ instruction are our specialty.
Steve has two
charter boats operating in the Snowy Mountains. ‘Troutn 3’, a 6.1
metre Marlin Broadbill, is licenced for up to 8 passengers and
‘Troutn’ a 4.1 metre Polycraft which is licenced for three people
and is set up especially for fly fishing and spinning the edges of
the Snowy lakes.
Steve runs weekend courses on ‘Boat Trolling’ and ‘Downrigging’ including full instruction on all methods used as well as correct boat set up. Steve’s 30 years of fly fishing also makes him more than qualified to run one of Australia’s largest fly fishing schools. The “Gillies Fly Fishing Schools” are professional courses set up for beginners, but Steve also offers intermediate and advanced courses throughout the fly fishing season. Steve offers tours and instruction, from 2 hours to 8 hours, on all methods of trout fishing. Steve Williamson’s ‘Lake Jindabyne Trout Fishing Adventures’ is a FULL TIME trout guiding business operating 364 days a year. Steve is also Jindabyne’s longest serving full time professional trout fishing business, with over 35 years experience in the Snowy Mountains area. Steve Williamson is the author of the ‘best selling’ book – ‘Trout Fishing the Snowy Mountains’ and is a regular contributor to many fishing magazines.
Steve also has a tackle shop located at Discovery Holiday Parks – Jindabyne, (Formerly Snowline Holiday Park). Steve’s shop has everything that you would ever want to go trout fishing as well as boating spare parts and supplies for fitting out your boat. Drop into the shop for the very latest fishing reports and expert advice. Since 2006, Steve has also been running courses on saltwater fishing. Based at Discovery Holiday Park Pambula Beach, Steve runs learn to fish workshops through out the summer season and also instruction on Saltwater Fly Fishing. contact
