stephen chatterton

Stephen Chatterton grew up on the shores of Lake Illawarra where he learned the fundamentals of fishing. Stephen has been involved with fishing ever since and fished extensively with lures before being introduced to fly fishing some 10 years ago. As a committed (or some would say committable) fly fisherman Stephen specialises in both smooth water fly fishing guiding for salt water species such as bream, flathead and whiting and both general fly fishing techniques for trout and specialised techniques such as "booby pumping", "Loch style fly fishing", fishing "static wets" and fishing "wee wets".

Stephen keeps his skills honed and up to date by fishing competitively and this year won the Southern Zone Fly Fish Australia championships. With bases in both Jindabyne and Wollongong guided fly fishing opportunities are offered throughout the year. Where ever you want to fish you can bring your own gear along and Stephen will "tune" it for you or you can use his state of the art gear at no extra cost. With a passion for fly tying Stephen has recently published a very comprehensive fly tying CD called "a b c of Fly Tying for Trout" and he has 3 further CD's in the pipeline covering Fly Tying for Estuary Species, Fly Tying for Bass and Fly Tying for a Tropical Trip. The CD's give step by step recipes for flies as well as step by step instructions that will help you master most fly tying skills.

Stephen also offers personal and group fly tying courses designed to lead you through a curriculum designed against your own personal requirements - that's right he will teach you what you want to know.
